We meet in Millthorpe School at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. every week, with the exception of the evening on the first Sunday of each month. These meetings are open to all, and there is a crèche for young children during the service.
On the first Sunday of each month, we instead host an informal meeting in Clements Hall at 5 p.m. where we look at and discuss fundamental issues in Christianity. Refreshments are provided during the meeting and there is the opportunity to ask any questions you have about Christianity.
We meet once a month to pray together, and twice a month in smaller home groups to pray, study the bible and spend time together. Speak to us on a Sunday or get in touch for more information.
After you enter Millthorpe School from Philadelphia Terrace, you will travel a short distance before seeing the front entrance to the building amidst ample parking space. Entering the building, you will pass through a small lobby area where you will be greeted by two church members and given a programme for the day; if you have any questions or requirements, just ask!
Entering the main hall, you can find bibles and other literature on the right, and seating on the left. Before the service starts, usually a minute or two after the start time, feel free to chat with us or simply just take a seat.
The service itself is usually 60-90 minutes long, starting with 30 minutes split between prayer, songs, news, and notices; this is followed by a 30-60 minute sermon, and finished with a song and prayer. On the second and fourth Sunday of each month we take communion in the morning and evening respectively.
After the service is finished, you can chat with and get to know us, and in the mornings, tea, coffee, and biscuits are brought out on trays. Additionally, on the morning of the third Sunday of each month, you are welcome to stay for our bring and share lunch which starts a few minutes after the service has ended.
As you approach Clements Hall by road, you will see the hall on your right. On your left, directly opposite the hall, you will see the school gates open, and you will find plenty of space to park inside. Entering the building, you will pass through a small lobby area where you will be greeted by two church members. The main hall is to the left of the entrance area.
Entering the main hall, you will see a few tables surrounded by chairs. Take a seat at one of the tables and wait for the service to start.
The service is usually no longer than 60 minutes split between a talk and discussions. At the end, there is usually an opportunity to raise any questions you’ve had during the discussions and talk. During the service, tea, coffee, and cake or biscuits are served on the tables.
On the first Wednesday of each month, we meet together to pray as a church at 7:30 pm in Scarcroft Learning Centre. It is an opportunity for us to pray for our church, our local community and our world.
On the second and fourth weeks of each month, we meet together in seven smaller, informal groups in the homes of our members. We spend time studying the Bible, praying, and getting to know one another.
If you’re interested in joining a home group, please speak to one of our elders on a Sunday.
