York Evangelical Church (YEC) has members of all ages and backgrounds, but we’re united in our love for God and what he has done for us in Jesus. We delight to see this community of people gathered together, sharing their lives and being changed by the Holy Spirit as we open the Bible.
Sundays
Our main services are held on Sunday mornings and evenings at Millthorpe School. The whole church gathers together to worship God and hear teaching from the Bible. Groups geared towards children and young people are available during term time. We love to welcome newcomers, so if you’re visiting York or fancy trying out church for the first time, why not come and join us one Sunday?
Joining us on Zoom
We make our Sunday services available over Zoom, for anyone who can't join us in person.

For the gospel
At YEC we believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important piece of good news we could hear. Our church exists for the glory of God, to share the gospel of Jesus and to see God’s people growing in Christian maturity. We love seeing those who worship with us deepen their faith and their love for God week by week, as God’s Spirit works in them.
For everyone
YEC is a diverse collection of people from all backgrounds and walks of life, united by our shared love of Jesus and our desire to love and serve him every day. We love to welcome anyone and everyone into our family – no matter your beliefs or background we are confident you will find a warm welcome and genuine community to support you through life’s ups and downs.
Church family
We believe Christians are brought into God’s family and that each church is a little piece of our world-wide family. At YEC we work hard to be a family to each other; loving each other despite differences and supporting each other in a myriad of ways. From providing meals to playdates, praying for each other to days out we love to gather together as family outside Sunday services.
